The American Idol Experience at Disney World Orlando is Hot

I featured this attraction in an earlier post before it opened. Now it is here and it is a big hit. There are two ways to participate in this attraction. The ultimate thrill, if you dare, is to be on-stage and the other is being in the audience voting for the winner. There are seven regular shows a day, each featuring three performers. The winners will compete agaist each other in an eighth show and the last one standing gets a grand reward: A front-of-the-line ticket to any one of the next season's "American Idol" tryouts in the country. That's worth a visit to Disney World Orlando if you think you have what it takes. Up to 400 can audition each day, and about 40 will make it past the first cut. Then 21 are eventually cast to compete in seven regular shows. It's that simple. Well, it seems simple. Why not give it a shot. See you in Orlando or maybe on American Idol. Just a reminder: American Idol winner, Kris allen, will be at Disney's Hollywood Studios May 29th at 10 a.m..

Visit a Museum-Watch "Night at the Museum-Battle for the Smithsonian"

Visiting a notable city or historical destination on your next trip, why not make plans to visit one of its museums. Museums have become quit popular since the release of the movie Night at the Museum. It was a fun and entertaining story about a museum that comes to life at night and the night guardsman who witnesses what takes place with the artifacts. I am looking forward to the release of the new Night at the Museum-Battle of the Smithonian in which named museum is featured. The Smithsonian, the world's largest museum complex, consists of 19 museums, 9 research centers and a zoo. Admission is free for all Smithsonian museums and the zoo in Washington, D.C.. You can visit the sites and artifacts that inspired the movie at Night at the Museum Movie. The first public IMAX screening will take place Thurs. May 21 11P.M.-2A.M. at the Johnson IMAX Theater in Washington D.C.. So, if you are already in Washington or planning to visit in the near future, make sure to add the Smithsonian to your list of things to see. Oh, watch out for the artifacts, they may bite or slap you. Delivered by Vacation Rick Travel.

Win a Disney Cruise in the Summer at Sea Sweepstakes

Disney Cruise Line consists of two ships-Disney Wonder and Disney Magic. Castaway Cay is a private island or "out island" in the Bahamas which serves as an exclusive port of call for the Disney Cruise Line ships. Though family-oriented in design, these ships cater to adults just as much as they amuse kids. While the kids are playing, adults can enjoy a wide range of onboard amenities, activities, and areas reserved exclusively for them. Scuttle's Cove on Castaway Cay is dedicated to children's activities. Parents can relax on the beach all day while the kids enjoy nonstop supervised fun. You can check cruise itinerary details at Vacation Rick Travel Disney cruises. As a special bonus incentive Disney is having a sweepstakes contest where eight families can win a chance to cruise with Disney Channel stars in the Summer at Sea Sweepstakes. Plus you can win Kodak products. Join in the fun, check all the information out. It doesn't cost anything to enter. You have a Disney day.

Take the Plunge at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Florida

You will not be disappointed when you spend a hot day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. The family enjoyed every minute of it. Plenty to do and a large selection of slides and water attractions to please everyone, from someone wanting to relax in the water, to the daring who are looking for a thrill. The family favorite was Crush 'n' Gusher. There are three different slides in this section to choose from ranging from 410 to 420 ft. in length, but all of them end up splashing into "Hideaway Bay" pool. The three slides are "Banana Blaster", "Coconut Crusher", and "Pineapple Plunger". Next, is the wave pool, the world's largest. The kids loved waiting for the waves to build and then come splashing down and sweeping them towards the beach. The Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool generates 6-foot waves. Surf lessons are available in the hours before the water park opens for guests 8 and older.
For all the details go to Typhoon Lagoon.
