It has a deep basement whose entrance is a covered stairway in the little courtyard. There was a "tunnel-like" arched entrance toward the sidewalk, but it was for an access to allow material to be loaded into the basement. I once saw an old drawing of the Bermuda stone row and #141 had a sign hanging near its right corner with the word " ICE." An excavation of sorts was commenced on the dirt floor of the basement and a dense layer of sawdust was found, indicating the storage of blocks of ice. There is the remains of an oven with a flue..
